PENNY JO is the cheapest way onto a modern crewed catamaran in the Bahamas, and she does not feel like the cheapest boat here. She is a 2022 Bali 44 sleeping six in three cabins, and the Bali party trick matters more than the length: the salon back wall lifts and the side windows slide forward, so the whole main deck opens into one indoor-outdoor space.
We chartered her this summer and the crew were the thing guests kept coming back to, interactive without hovering and going out of their way to keep everyone happy. That is the difference between a small boat that feels tight and a small boat that feels intimate.
The toy list is deep for her size: two paddleboards, a kayak, a floating dock, wakeboard, towable tube, and proper fishing gear with trolling and casting setups. Starlink keeps the group connected across the Exumas. From $24,000 a week, she suits two or three couples who want the Bahamas without a Bahamas budget.
9. NAUTI DOGS 5.4 | 54ft
NAUTI DOGS 5.4 is the boat we reach for when a group wants a big modern catamaran and the budget stops in the low thirties. She is a 2022 Bali 5.4, 54 feet, sleeping eight in four cabins, and she keeps turning out to be the only real option at that number rather than a compromise chosen because nothing else was free.
She earns it on deck. There is a forward cockpit lounge, an aft cockpit with its own dining, and a flybridge with 360-degree views, so eight people can spread across three separate zones instead of taking turns in one.
The water setup is unusually complete: a 12-foot tender, Yamaha underwater scooters, a Subwing, two paddleboards, wakeboard, kneeboard, towable tube and fishing gear. From $31,000 a week she is the most boat per dollar in the Bahamas fleet, and the reason she books out early.
8. BAYMAHNI | 55ft
BAYMAHNI is the most genuinely local boat on this list. She is one of the only crewed catamarans based out of George Town, Exuma, rather than repositioning down from the Caribbean for a season, and it changes the week you get: she comes with access to a private lagoon and dock, and her crew know the dive sites the visiting boats read about.
That local knowledge is the real product. Her hostess grew up in Nassau and has dived with everything from tiger sharks to great whites, so a group that wants to be in the water is in genuinely capable hands rather than being handed a mask and pointed at a reef.
The boat backs it up. A 2021 Bali 5.4 at 55 feet, she sleeps eight across four queen cabins, each with its own en-suite and separate stall shower, with full air conditioning throughout. She is a 58-foot Fountaine Pajot sleeping eight across four en-suite queen cabins, so four couples get an identical room and nobody negotiates. Full air conditioning with individual cabin control, Starlink, a swim platform with boarding ladder and a BBQ cover the everyday comfort.

DRIFT is a 2022 Bali 5.4 sleeping eight in four queen cabins, each en-suite, and she came to the Bahamas with a crew we already knew. They ran Grace when she was new, a boat several of our brokers have been aboard, which is a far better guide to how a week will go than a brochure.
The layout is the familiar Bali strength: a flybridge with 360-degree views, a forward cockpit lounge and an aft cockpit for shaded meals, so the group rotates instead of queues. A swim platform with scoop steps and an outdoor shower keep swim stops effortless.
For the water she carries three sea scooters, a wakeboard, kneeboard and towable tube behind a 15-foot tender with 70 horsepower, plus paddleboards and snorkeling gear. An e-foil can be added for the week if someone in the group wants a project. From $35,000 a week.

LOCATION 5.8 is the newest hull on this list, a 2027 Bali 5.8 at 58 feet, and she is the answer when a group has stretched the budget and wants that to show. Five cabins rather than the usual four means a larger party is not forced to split across two boats.
Bali’s up-and-over saloon door links the air-conditioned main salon straight through to the forward cockpit lounge and the aft dining area, so the boat reads as one continuous space rather than a series of rooms. The flybridge adds a third level with 360-degree views, which is where most groups end up at sunset.
On the water there is an e-foil, three sea scooters, snorkeling gear and an underwater camera, plus a swim platform and deck shower. From $44,000 a week she sits at the top of the mid-market, and for a group of eight she is the most current boat available in the Bahamas.

AKASHA is a 62-foot Lagoon from 2018 sleeping eight in four double suites, and the cabin plan is the reason to look at her. A primary suite plus three further queen cabins, all with private bathrooms, means no one draws the short straw, which is harder to find than it sounds at this size.
She also carries a standup jet ski, which is genuinely unusual on a catamaran and gives the group something quick to ride between anchorages rather than only behind the tender. Alongside it there are four paddleboards, a wakeboard, kayaks, floating mats and snorkeling gear, with an Ocean Master tender for beach hops and errands.

INDABLUE is a 74-foot Sunreef from 2017, refitted in 2023, with three cabins for up to seven guests. Most of the boats on this list split their year between the BVI and the Bahamas. She does not, and it shows in how well her crew know the Exumas.
We chartered her in the summer of 2026 for a family with three teenagers, and the week came back perfect. They singled out the chef and a captain who clearly knows these waters, and we would put clients on her again tomorrow. When guests rave about the food and the crew, that is the most reliable signal we get.
From $49,500 a week she is priced below several smaller boats on this list, which makes her one of the better-value picks in the Bahamas fleet for a group of six or seven who want space on deck more than a fourth cabin.

ODYSSEY is a 2022 Lagoon 77 based here in the Bahamas, and her 36-foot beam gives her genuinely spacious cabins: an ensuite master with a walk-in closet, plus three further ensuite queens, one of which converts to twins. We like that her deck spaces do not feel like an afterthought: a sun awning, bimini shade, and a BBQ that somehow always turns a quick lunch into a long one.
Her crew of 4 and her toy list, including paddleboards, a Seabob, wakeboard, and adult water skis, make her a strong fit for an active family week.
