Big Major Cay

Big Major Cay, better known as Pig Beach, is the single most-requested stop in the whole Bahamas: a small uninhabited cay whose feral pigs swim out to greet arriving tenders. Nobody’s entirely sure how they got there, the popular story is a shipwrecked sailor’s leftover livestock, but the swimming itself is real and exactly as photogenic as it looks online.

Don’t miss visiting mid-morning, before the day-tour boats from Nassau and Staniel Cay arrive in numbers.

Part of The Exumas, see the full destination guide for getting there and pairing this with the rest of the chain.
