Offered by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht PENNY JO is a 45 ft sailing catamaran. The main attractions of PENNY JO are her impeccable styling and culinary experience. PENNY JO spends the summer and winter season in the Bahamas. She was completed by the renowned boatbuilder Bali Catamarans in 2021. The ingenious yacht layout features 3 cozy cabins and comfortably accommodates a group of 6 guests.
PENNY JO is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the heart of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck features a variety of seating areas and that's where the guests spend most of their time. The tastefully decorated cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. The cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. Multiple portholes add to the feeling of connection with the discovered environment.
The sailboat features 2 X 57HP Yanmar 9Kvw Onan Generator engines and a generator.

Your one of kind vacation in the Bahamas aboard Penny Jo begins with an amazing Crew.
Meet Martin and Suzana.
They love their home country of Slovenia but have always had the wanderlust to explore beautiful places and experience new cultures.
Captain Martin
Captain Martin started his career on sailboats and later gained valuable experience on various yachts, sailing boats, and catamarans. For many years, he has been navigating the seas and oceans as a professional, licensed Captain. Guests return to charter again because of his positive and cheerful demeanor. Having a prior career in engineering provided Martin with the experience needed to manage and care for the yachts creating a stress-free and safe charter.
In addition to sailing, Martin enjoys freediving and swimming to connect with the marine world. In Martin’s words “Every moment at sea is an opportunity for new experiences and challenges, which I embrace with open arms. I enjoy connecting with people who wish to experience the beauty of the sea and provide them with unforgettable moments through my experience. My passion and love of the sea are the main reasons why I look forward to every new day on board.”
Chef/First Mate Suzana
Chef Suzana is a passionate sailor and gourmet enthusiast. Always with a smile on her face and tons of energy, she takes pride in preparing meals for guests with her personal flair. Her love for the sea and nature has been with her since childhood so she jumped at the chance to live on a sailboat with Martin.
Suzana learned to cook in her mother's kitchen and as a self-taught chef, enhanced her passion with additional culinary courses. She is always trying new recipes, as cooking is a way she expresses herself. Her precision and sense of design are evident in her culinary creations and other aspects of her life.
Traveling is her passion, but she finds exploring new cultures and flavors not only enriches her life but inspires new culinary endeavors. In addition to her culinary and sailing adventures, she worked for several years in the service industry, gaining valuable experience in hospitality and understanding the importance of excellent service. Guests appreciate her hospitality, precision, and cleanliness, which has been reflected in their positive guest reviews.
Martin and Suzana are always ready for new challenges and adventures, as they believe life is best lived fully and passionately.
In addition to their roles as Captain and Chef on charter yachts, they owned a beautiful Beneteau 345 sailboat for five years which they sailed extensively from Greece to Italy, Spain, the Canary Islands, and back to Spain via Italy, Croatia, Slovenia. They have also sailed and explored Australia, French Polynesia, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Aegean Sea. Exploring new places inspires them as a couple as they discover the true freedom and beauty of the sea.
They look forward to the opportunity to share their travels and nautical experiences with you and show you the beauty of the Exuma Cays.

Bart spent times in his childhood sailing small catamarans in the Knysna Bay area with family. This early exposure formed a lifelong love of being on the sea and of sailing. <br /> <br /> Having always been around boats when he was younger, he decided to change up his lifestyle after a bout as a quarry manager for 8+ years after high school. He did his sailing YachtMasters license in his homeland back in 2019. Upon completion, he has served on various large yachts in different locations, including the Bahamas and the East Coast of the US. Easy going and always up for a chat, he loves sharing experiences and is always happy to talk sailing and boats. As an ex- Skydiving instructor and keen scuba diver, you are sure to hear some exciting stories. Bart believes that safety is always the primary focus when preforming his captain duties, and that having respect for the environment will always provide for an optimal, fun-filled trip. Bart can’t wait to experience more trips throughout The Bahamas with new faces in sunny, favourite places. <br /> <br /> Chef Katie<br /> Penny Jo welcomes Katie, a Canadian chef who comes from a university town an hour west of Toronto, Ontario. Her love for food and cooking hatched from a young age. Her Nan (also Katie) shared her wealth of knowledge and family recipes from the time she could walk and hold a wooden spoon. Many summer days were spent canning jams, jellies and preserves, baking fresh pies and hosting family gatherings where our efforts could be enjoyed by all. <br /> <br /> Throughout high school, Katie worked part time in the hospitality industry. Serving in a local banquet hall, as well as several local fine dining kitchens. Once Katie finished high school, there was only one real path which all of her friends and family knew was before her; Chef school. Katie attended a private French culinary institute in Canada, Stratford Chef’s School. <br /> <br /> Upon graduation, Katie worked several private chef gigs throughout North America. This gave her off seasons in between her contracts to go and travel, which is a major hobby and love of hers. She took her time to explored Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and Central America solo and with friends. This broadened her scope in cooking, giving her new flavours and ingredients to unwrap and understand. <br /> <br /> Once the travelling itch was satisfied, Katie began to explore new avenues to merge her existing career with other hobbies and passions like travel and scuba diving. This is where interest and recommendations came for the yachting industry. She travelled to South Africa to complete her yachting qualifications in 2021, where she met Captain Bart in Cape Town through the local yachting community. Our first Captain and Chef couple’s job came quickly upon completion of my STCW yachting course. We began our journey together on an 80” Motor Yacht in the jewel of the Caribbean, The Bahamas.
