Captain: Jamie de Leeuw
Captain: Jamie De Leeuw
Born in London, England and raised in Durban, South Africa, Jamie has always had a
passion for the sea. He grew up deep-sea fishing, free diving and spear fishing with his
stepdad. In high school, Jamie represented his province and later South Africa in rock
climbing. Shortly after high school, Jamie earned his Dive Instructor certification in
Roatan, Honduras where he ran a dive master training internship and continued
teaching until he accepted his first permanent yacht position 8 years ago. Jamie and
Sarah have worked together the last five years and recently got married in Florida. His
hobbies include all types of fishing (especially fly fishing), mountain biking, photography,
and traveling.
Mate: Matthew Cheramie
Matthew was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Growing up, he was never far from water. Fishing and water sports were his favorite hobbies throughout his teenage years. He began working in kitchens in New Orleans in 2019. Shortly after meeting Betty, he joined her in Alaska to work on a charter yacht as a deckhand. Since then, they have been working as a team on private and charter yachts. In his spare time, Matthew loves to travel and watch star wars with his partner Betty.

Betty was born in Florida and has lived in New Orleans, Louisiana since 2014. There, she began working in restaurants and has been cooking ever since. She began working in the yachting industry in 2018 and has worked as a chef and stewardess on private and charter yachts with a brief break to teach English in Costa Rica. In her spare time she likes to watch star wars with her partner Matthew and loves to travel, especially anywhere near the ocean.
