Unlikely, by charter standards. The Bahamas is one of the calmest cruising grounds we book. The Exumas sit on shallow banks where sandbars stop the ocean swell, so yachts spend most of the week in flat, protected water, and the daily legs are short, often 10 to 40 nautical miles.
If anyone in your group is nervous about motion, tell your broker and we build the trip around it. A catamaran is the steadiest platform: two hulls, no heeling, and very little roll at anchor, which is where you spend most of your time. On motor yachts, many of the boats we shortlist carry stabilizers that settle the ride under way and at anchor.
The honest caveat: winter cold fronts can bring a couple of windy days, and any open-water crossing has some movement. A good captain plans around both, tucking into the lee side of the islands and choosing calm anchorages, which the Bahamas has in huge supply.
