Hey there! So, picture this – the past 25 years have been an absolute blast in Langebaan, South Africa, aka the Jewel of the West Coast. We've been soaking up life, surrounded by these incredible azure waters that practically scream "adventure playground." Sailing, boating, fishing – you name it, we've done it. And our kids? Well, they've practically grown up with a love for the sea and a knack for sailing.
Now, amidst all those laid-back sailing sessions, a wild idea popped up - why not throw some part-time charters for holidaymakers? And guess what? We've decided to shake things up and trade in our regular gigs for the adventure we've always dreamt of.
So, here we are - qualified, pumped and ready to drive headfirst into the full-time charter scene. Our game plan? Make sure every owner and guest doesn't just have an adventure, but leaves with a grin and a bunch of kick-ass memories. Oh, and with my love for snapping pics, I'm on a mission to capture those special moments for everyone to take home.
And hey, just so you know, we're not exactly newbies at this - we've got a lifetime of boating under our belts, a solid 9 years of sailing like pros, and a cool 3 years of charter experience. Ready for the ride? Because we sure are!!
CHEF
Magda van der Linde
Hello there! I'm a positive, energetic, and sophisticated wife, wearing the proud badge of a mom to two awesome kids. My passion? Well, it's all about wowing people with delightful South African cuisine, served up in a joyful atmosphere that's simply infectious.
Nature? Oh, that's my sanctuary – my happy place where I find peace and can't help but marvel at the wonders of creation. Now, picture this: our family has been soaking up the good vibes in Langebaan on the West Coast of the Western Cape. It's been our haven, especially with top-notch watersport facilities that allowed us to nurture our kids' love for sailing. Guess what? They're both sailors now, charter captain and chef actually, and it's high time for us to jump on board by swapping our old careers for new full-time adventures and take advantage of the 9 years of sailing experience and 3 years of charter experience we have.
We're on the brink of an exciting journey in the industry, and our goal is crystal clear – to craft charters that leave our future guests beaming with satisfaction. Get ready for a ride with a dash of sophistication and a whole lot of positive energy!

Reviews
We are just back from a voyage around Exuma with Andre and Magda on the Zuri 3, a 54’ Bali catamaran. First, our hosts: they could have not been more welcoming and friendly. Clearly, working very hard to make our trip everything we wanted and more. Our group was treated to a side of the Bahamas none of us knew existed. All of us had been to Nassau, but we didn’t know much of the island chain is uninhabited and spectacularly beautiful with white powder sand beaches and gin-clear water with nary a man-made structure in sight. Each was stunned by this remote isolated natural beauty. Andre presented us new post card anchorages daily.
Further, interactions with local wildlife were part of their mission. Several wonderful snorkel excursions that included an aircraft wreckage once owned by notorious Pablo Escobar and the aptly named “Aquarium.” We also fed iguanas, wild pigs (that actually swim), and sharks (that we swam with). Yes, real live wild nurse sharks. Magda passionately teaching us the magic of these stunning creatures. A cruise down the local lazy river led us to a day at a beach all to ourselves. Where else are you going to get all of that?
Speaking of Magda, she also worked diligently to put 5 pounds on each guest with delicious meals and stunning presentations – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She was quick to point out that she’s not a chef. Maybe, but she is very good cook with an eye for detail. Favorites of our week were the poke bowl, lobster night, tuna steaks, and her nachos – for which everyone asked for a recipe. However, IMO, Magda is missing an opportunity by not introducing her food. It’s great! Celebrate it! By telling us all about the meal as we are seated, i.e. “tonight is grilled lobster basted in garlic butter accompanied by an Israeli couscous and roasted vegetable medley with thyme and rosemary.”
Now, the Zuri 3 herself. She’s a big boat with lots of fantastic features. Most notable is the ability to raise the rear of the saloon making a complete open design. Further, I’d say she has the most seating options of any catamaran her size we’ve seen. She has comfortable well thought out, if a bit tight, cabins and heads. Sadly, due lack of favorable winds, we were not able to experience her under sail.
Andre and Magda also do an amazing job of following your preference sheets and advising you on what and how to pack. Listen to them. We all over packed.
All in all, issues were minor and we had a wonderful week with Andre, Magda, and the Zuri 3. Their passion alone is more than enough to earn our recommendation without reservation for charter in the Bahamas. You won’t be disappointed.

Magda was nothing short of excellence. She also made sure each day that we were having fun, that we felt like home and that we had everything we needed. Her cooking was amazing, I probably gained ten pounds from how delicious. Each dish was classic but with a touch of her creativity. Hummus and warm pitas but with anchovies on top, hard boiled eggs but with her delicious aoili, lobster grilled to perfection not with drawn butter but her special tartar sauce to name a few. She was such a delight to talk to and told us story after story. She scheduled some private romantic time for us but also engaged and encouraged us to party. She was the perfect balance of personal and professional.
Keeping up a yacht is such hard work. It was spotless when we arrived with Magda's homey touches in all the right places. We were made clear how to work the blue tooth, the AC and any safety features to aid in our comfort level. I loved the deck out front rather than a net and the leather bean bags that were supplied.
Thank you both for THE most wonderful trip! We all had such an amazing time and can't imagine having a better crew to do it with! Thank you Andre for getting us to see the most we could - and safely! Magda, thank you for the wonderful food and conversations. We wish you the best for the remainder of the season and if we don't see you again down here in the Bahamas, we hope to see you up in Calgary!
