Crew

Crew Information

Captain: James turl

James Turl – Master – Born in Canada, raised in the B.V.I’s. I have spent most of my life at sea and enjoy everything that comes along with being on the water, from watersports to deep sea fishing and everything in between. As a maritime professional, I got my start in the industry at a very young age and have stuck with it for the long haul, from Deckhand to Mate/Engineer and on to Master on a variety of different vessels. Professionalism, safety, and guest experience are all extremely important aboard M/Y Phoenix. Our program’s goal is to show our guests the truly natural and untouched beauty of our cruising areas and have as much fun as possible along the way. Looking forward to having you onboard!

Dana Troskie – Chief Stewardess – Born and raised in South Africa. I have been traveling the Mediterranean and Caribbean for the past few years, working as a Stewardess, however, my home will always be South Africa. Before I became a Stewardess I was working as a 3D fashion designer. I am also passionate about molecular gastronomy, aka food and cocktails! My biggest inspiration is Heston Blumenthal. Hopefully, we will have the pleasure of having you onboard.

Dan Page – Mate – Having grown up in Sedgefield, a small coastal town in South Africa, I developed an appreciation for boats and water toys. I have spent the last 5 years working on yachts around the world, to refine my skill set and give charter guests the best possible experience. I am here to ensure you have a fun time onboard M/Y Phoenix while keeping your safety in mind. Come join us aboard Phoenix!

Obie Hanna – Deckhand – Born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas. I’ve grown up close to the ocean my whole life. Some water activities I enjoy are scuba diving, and fishing, along with learning new things and working with our team to provide a safe and fun experience for guests. I’m hard-working, reliable, honest, and passionate about my career. Having grown up in Nassau on the water I quickly learned that my true passion is working in the yacht industry. Come join us!

Lauryn D’Andrea – 2nd Stewardess - Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. I have a bachelor’s degree in media and Communications. I’ve always had a passion for hospitality and traveling, and when I found out there was a career where I could do both I was sold. I’ve been a bartender for the last 8 years and love experimenting with fun cocktails for the guests to enjoy. I have a love for every and all kinds of music, water sports, and hiking. My hobbies include photography, videography, reading, and meeting new people. Hope to see you onboard the Phoenix soon!
